BEAD FACTS

Czechoslovakian seed beads are some of the most uniformly sized beads in use today. We stock all available colors in sizes 8/0 through 13/0. When you order remember to order enough beads to complete your project because bead dye lots will differ in color. If you send a sample of the color you are looking for we will try to match it.  Please keep in mind that, even though a color is listed in our catalog not all sizes and all colors can be in stock at all times. Some colors are produced only once every few years. Also note that the ½ kilo and kilo are units of measure and that the actual number of hanks will vary from color to color. Pricing for kilo and 1/2 kilo quantities is for a single color only and available upon request.

Czech 3-Cut beads have a faceted surface that makes them sparkle. They come in 10 string hanks. There are approximately 3,000 beads in a hank of 9/0 and 12/0 sizes. 9/0 beads measure 14 beads per inch and 12/0 beads measure 18 beads per inch.

Charlottes (size 13/0 single cut beads) these true cut seed beads have been hand faceted to give them an extra twinkle. They come in 12 string hanks and measure 22 1/2 beads per inch average.

Bugle beads are tube shaped approximately ¼" to 1 ¼ " long.      

Size 2 bugle beads (2x4MM or 1/4") have about 1,524 beads per hank and average 4 beads per inch. Each hank weighs approximately 1 3/4 ounces (50.29 grams).  Size 3 bugle beads (2x7MM) have about 1,015 beads per hank and average 4.23 beads per inch. Each hank weighs approximately 1 3/4 ounces (50.29 grams). Size 3 twisted bugle beads (2x7MM) have about 1,015 beads per hank and average 4.23 beads per inch. Each hank weighs approximately 1 3/4 ounces (50.29 grams).

Size 5 bugle beads (2x11MM) have about 550 beads per hank / package and average 2.3 beads per inch. Each hank / package weighs approximately 1 3/4 ounces (50.29 grams). Size 20mm bugle beads  (2x20MM) 3/4" average 1.2 beads per inch and weigh .67 ounces (19.14 grams). There are 100 beads per package.

  French beads are unique in that the holes in the beads are the same size in the seed beads sizes 8/0 through 13/0. Size 12 needles and size 00 - B thread will work with seed beads size 8/0 through 13/0, eliminating the need for several sizes of needles and thread. The colors do not fade or run. Please keep in mind when combining French and Czech seed beads in your projects that the French beads are sized approximately 1 size larger than the Czech beads. For example if you order size 12 French beads and you want Czech beads the same size you would order size 11 Czech beads.
